Privacy Policy
How the Brite platform — including the BritePOS, BriteKDS, and BriteRES apps — collects, uses, and protects information. Effective June 8, 2026.
BritePOS does not sell or share your data with third parties.
BritePOS itself does not sell your personal information, and does not share it with third parties for their own marketing or purposes. Card payments are handled by the restaurant’s chosen third-party payment processor (for example Stripe, Mollie, or PayPal); we cannot determine how those independent processors use data they collect directly, and their handling is governed by their own policies. Any other data sharing is limited to the providers needed to operate the Service for your restaurant — such as hosting infrastructure — acting on the restaurant’s behalf, as described in “How information is shared” below.
EU/EEA & UK residents: see your GDPR rights & opt-out.
Who we are
Brite provides restaurant management software: the BritePOS point-of-sale app, the BriteKDS kitchen-display app, the BriteRES reservations app, and the supporting web services (together, the “Service”). The apps are business tools used by restaurant staff and connect to a Brite server operated for the restaurant.
When a restaurant uses Brite to manage its own guests’ bookings and orders, the restaurant is the data controller for that guest information and Brite acts as a processor on the restaurant’s behalf.
Information we collect
- Staff account information — name, email address, and sign-in credentials (including the PIN used to identify the operator on a shared terminal).
- Guest / booking & order data entered by restaurant staff — customer name and, where provided, phone number and email for reservations and walk-ins, plus order contents and transaction totals.
- Device & technical data — an authentication token stored on the device to keep you signed in, a device label (model / OS) to identify the terminal, and standard server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) used for security and troubleshooting.
Payments. Card payments are processed by the restaurant’s chosen payment provider (for example Stripe, Mollie, or PayPal). Card numbers are handled by that provider’s systems — the Brite apps do not collect or store card numbers. We retain only a record of the transaction (amount, items, and a payment reference).
The apps do not request your device location, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
How we use information
- To provide the Service — sign-in, taking and routing orders, reservations, and printing.
- To keep terminals in sync in real time across the floor and kitchen.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
- To provide support to the restaurant.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or for building marketing profiles.
How information is shared
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Payment providers (Stripe, Mollie, PayPal, etc.) process payments, server-side, for the restaurant.
- Infrastructure providers that host the restaurant’s Brite server and deliver the Service.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
Sending data to the restaurant’s own Brite server so the apps can function is not a sale or a transfer to an unrelated third party.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as the restaurant’s account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless a longer term is required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS for the API and secure WebSockets for realtime sync). Access to systems is restricted, and authentication tokens are stored in the device’s secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information using industry-standard safeguards.
Your choices & data deletion
Staff and guests may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information. Because guest data belongs to the restaurant, we will route such requests to the relevant restaurant where appropriate. To make a request, email privacy@britetele.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
Children
The Service is a business tool intended for restaurant staff and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
